RESEARCH: X-RAY FLOW VISUALIZATION
RESEARCH ASSISTANT | MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY, AMES, IA
December 2017 - June 2019
Research: X-ray Flow Visualization at the ISU Experimental Multiphase Flow Laboratory
First authored a paper on multiphase liquid jet phenomena through data collected at Argonne National Lab in partnership with the Office of Naval Research
Analyzed liquid jet properties such as frequency intensities, necking, wicking, and instabilities between laminar, transitional, and turbulent flow
Designed, manufactured, and assembled a mobile camera mount for the X-ray flow visualization facility
Coordinated the implementation of lead lining to reduce X-ray exposure on high-speed cameras
Assisted mechanical engineering graduate students with various laboratory tasks
Processed and analyzed X-ray data pertaining to liquid flows using MATLAB, Python, Excel, and Premiere Pro
Presented research on liquid jets and X-ray flow visualization at APS DFD Conference 2018
