  • Facilitated a class of 24 freshmen students in Mechanical Engineering twice a week 

  • Acted as a mentor and a guide to Iowa State and the Mechanical Engineering curriculum 

  • Advised students in 1-1 meetings with issues pertaining to academics, social life, and personal health 

  • Encouraged students to take leadership positions and get involved in organizations  

  • Wrote letters of recommendation for students 

WISE UNIVERSITY PEER MENTOR | WOMEN IN SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING, IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY, AMES, IA

  • Led a week-long summer camp for girls in high school to experience engineering 

  • Lived alongside the visiting students for a week, organized engineering activities, and took them to faculty talks 

  • Shared my experiences as a woman in engineering and helped encourage young women to pursue a degree in engineering

  • Restructured the lab report format to improve grading efficiency and provide clarity for student expectations 

  • Processes include machining, welding, casting, metrology, heat treatment, and material testing

  • Co-led a class of 13 freshmen honors students 

  • Created and organized 16 weeks of lesson plans centralized around a theme

  • Teach lindy hop, charleston, east coast, west coast, and solo jazz to class sizes of 2-100 people

  • Organize lessons and help plan regional swing dancing events

  • Taught for two years at Iowa State and one year in Des Moines, Iowa

  • Compete at regional dance competitions in individual and team competitions
